Two separate events today with two different people have made me realise that people only appreciate you when you don't do much for them and do nice things for them once in a purple moon. Otherwise, you're gonna be taken for granted, abused and unappreciated.
I don't understand why it took me so long to arrive at this conclusion. I mean signs all around me should've made me realise it.
For examples:
Discounts. They don't happen everyday so people will take them more seriously. The recent "fake" petrol discount of 40% on National Day got all the drivers buzzing. Heck they even went to queue at the petrol kioks when it was announced on tv that the 40% was just a hoax.
Winning the first prize in 4D or Toto. It doesn't happen to you every week. So when it happens to people, they really know how lucky they are. Hell, they wouldn't even mind using 1 million bucks in capital to win the 1 million bucks first prize (before govt tax and gst).
Which is why we all should realise that Jesus died for our sins. We should really thank him. (siying you better stop laughing at this.)
