Initial D was rather sucky. The only saving grace was the cast, especially Edison Chen, Shawn Yue, Chapman To, Anthony Huang and Kenny Bee. I like Jordan Chan too but he was unable to maximise his full acting potential with that lousy script.
The crowd in the cinema, theatre 1 of Golden Village Tampines, sucked. It felt like the old Canto. For the younger generation, Canto was a club at Marina Bay, something like any of the present clubs along Mohd Sultan that plays those tiu tiu tiu techno music and flooded with wannabe small Bengs.
The Bengs in theatre 1 sucked. Especially the one behind me who pronounced Ryosuke (rio-soo-kay) as Rai-Yo-Soo-Kay. Especially the many ones who were talking about EVO IX in the toilet after the movie, when they don't even look old enough to have a driving license. Heck, their yearly allowance don't even seem to be enough to pay for a month's installment of the EVO IX.
Nonetheless, I enjoyed the movie. Shawn Yue and Edison Chen made my day.
